What’s Growing at Kokolulu Farm September 2009

When Kokolulu was first established in 1999, we made a conscious decision to establish our farm in a fully sustainable way (long before the term became a buzz word). We have always been off the grid (meaning that we are totally energy independent. We generate all of our power via the sun, wind, and water. To see a short video of our farm and retreat center and the energy systems we use including the first vertical access wind machine in Hawaii.

We are currently harvesting string beans, sweet potatoes, mangoes, papayas, tomatillos, 3 kinds of chilies, green peppers, turmeric, ginger, tomatoes, passion fruit, 4 kinds of basil, coffee, kale, 5 kinds of greens, regular potatoes, sugar cane, oranges, lemons, avocados, bananas, numerous herbs, broccoli, 2 kinds of eggplant, taro to make poi, bread fruit, and many other items.
What a joy and labor of love to watch with amazement the wonderful things that grow year round at Kokolulu in Hawaii.

Come join us and be a part of this sustainable experience!
