Since Kokolulu was founded in 1999, we have helped make a huge impact on the lives of over 1700 participants.
We are now seeing many more people affected by cancer and at a much younger age (early 20’s).
In 2013 we have provided direct services to over 170 people.
In January 30 people participated in a powerful week long qigong workshop led by our good friend and colleague Zhineng Qigong Master Liu Jianshe. This was Jianshe’s first time in the U.S. He was a practitioner and teacher at the Medicine Less Hospital in China in the 1990’s and he and his team now have the medicine less Hexianju Qigong Centre on Hainan Island China .
In March thanks to the coordination of Diane Bobek (Fine Design Interiors) and her team of over 30 volunteers, chefs and muscians, Kokolulu hosted a successful Fund Raiser of over 200 people at Pakalana Sanctuary and raised over $20,000 to provide scholarships to retreat participants. Over 100 hundred people donated silent auction items. In June we had an Open House, with over 200 people viewing the newly designed and decorated guests rooms. This highly successful project coordinated by Diane Bobek, has had a major impact on our retreat participants providing a more colorful healing environment for our guests. We had 158 people donate time, materials, new furniture, plants, a new outdoor patio. We also had a concert by award winning and grandmaster of the Shakuhachi flute Riley Lee and an exhibition of Kalai Ki`i Pohaku, by Fred Soriano Carver of Stone.
We hosted two sound healing workshops in September and October.
Life is good and our hearts are filled with gratitude by the out pouring an generosity of so many wonderful people who have contributed to making Kokolulu so successful.
The future looks bright and we are excited about the expansion of our services that will include a new medicine less healing program in early 2014.
